Dr. Jonathan MacKenzie (1950-2025)

We are deeply saddened to share that Dr. Jonathan MacKenzie, co-founder of MacKenzie & Marr Guitars and my oldest friend, passed away in early December.

Jonathan’s curiosity, intellect, and relentless pursuit of excellence shaped not only our company but the spirit behind every instrument we build. He constantly challenged us to listen more closely, think more deeply, and never settle for “good enough” when something better was possible.

Beyond his contributions to our guitars, he was a loyal friend, thoughtful advisor, and enduring source of inspiration. His influence will remain part of MacKenzie & Marr for as long as we continue the work he helped begin.

He will be greatly missed.
