Summer Wages Series

The Legends Series

When Ian Tyson was kind enough to endorse a guitar we created to enhance his style of play our "Legends" series was born. The Ian Tyson Limited Edition - now sold out - was our first Legends guitar. Since then we've (in our own humble opinion) outdone ourselves with the re-birth of one of the classic guitars of the acoustic folk era - Tom Rush's Naked Lady. We'll be adding more tributes to other legendary musicians in the near future.

The Canadian Songwriter,

The Canadian Songwriter

Our dreadnought body formed the foundation for the Canadian Songwriter. It's been an astoundingly successful shape since we launched it. Mahogany was the obvious wood choice to for the back and sides. It is a wonderful tone wood for highlighting higher frequencies. How did we add back in the power in the mid registers? The secret is in the top wood. Cedar tops are our specialty.

Rediscovering Small Body Guitars

From the mid 19th Century until the 1930's guitars were very personal - easy to play and handle. The rise of the guitar as part of Jazz ensembles, as accompaniment for street performers and on large concert stages lead the the need for greater and "boomier" projection - which meant larger bodies and a certain loss of intimacy.
Now in the early part of the 21st Century we're re-discovering the beauty of smaller "OO" and parlor guitars. Thanks to modern electronic sound enhancement they work equally well in smaller rooms and large open venues.

An Important Note Regarding Porch Pirates

When we ship a guitar we always send it with instructions to the courier that a signature MUST obtained at the time of delivery. If no one is home to sign for the carton it will not be left. We do this to insure that your guitar does not fall into the hands of porch pirates (or other nefarious characters such as bass players or drummers).
