This is an exceptionally light, loud guitar.......great for fingerstyle or flatpick. Responds well when played hard or soft. As advertised, I find it to be perfect for vocal accompaniment. Neck is a bit more of a handful than my Tofino, but very comfortable. A high end guitar with a great case at an affordable price, it's as good and better than lots I've tried costing 4 to 5 times more.

I bought the Canadian Singwriter guitar for my beautiful wife for Christmas and cannot believe the amazing sound it has. For the price point you'd expect this guitar to be upwards of $2500. Although it doesn't have booming lows it does have everything else and I'd imagine as it opens up you'd be hearing more and more lows as this amazing guitar ages. Thank goddess it's Canadian made. If this guitar doesn't become the next big thing out of Canada then we're living in an alternate universe...

This is the best purchase I have ever made the sound truly resonates with that Taylor & Martin quality!! beautiful deep tone with crisp high note clarity that only comes from high quality instrument. I have had it for a week now and just can't put it down. I do plug it in but I love the barefoot acoustic sound even better. 2 Thumbs Up on this one!! on price, sound & workmanship "I noticed my friends had a hint of jealousy", You know the feeling "DAM I want that" with the tight lip anchous look & mmm how much? thing going on. I was a little skeptical at first because of the size and weight, I am use to my 12 string Takamine big body guitar but found it to be more comfortable, more volume, more tone and clarity. I'll would never give up my Takamine, and now my M&M songwriter for its bluegrass picking sound. You will be pleased great purchase. Cheers...

After a month of play, I thoroughly enjoy the instrument, a very slight buzz at the third fret was corrected with a tiny adjustment of the truss rod. Out of the box an incredible bang for the buck.

Tofino or Songwriter ? I am lucky to have them both. If you play hard in song circles or open mic venues the Songwriter will deliver. It cannot match the Tofino in the more intricate fingering styles on open mic- I think it's due to the difference in pick-ups. It has a warmer tone across the board and is well worth the quality you're getting. The sustain & presence of them both are unbelievable. I left the pick guard off of the Tofino & removed the one that came on the Songwriter , replacing it with the Tofino's . I just barely tweaked the Songwriter to adjust the action . It plays sweet. I'm waiting for my 3rd M&M guitar to be delivered in the next few days - The Ian Tyson model. Their products are really high quality for a lot less than what you'd spend on any other hand made guitars. Any way you go, you won't be disappointed.
