Tofino X (10th Anniversary Limited Edition)I was specifically looking for an OM sized guitar and had searched for about a year for the “one”. I was looking for a certain tone and loudness that I wasn’t finding and didn’t think was even out there. I was giving up at that point.
Then I came across the Mackenzie and Marr website and the Tofino X guitar. I was curious, but couldn’t try one in person anywhere and that was a downside for me until I read their 7 day refund policy that even includes the return shipping. Nothing to loose to try the guitar in my own home. I went for it.
It arrived and was packed perfectly and was in perfect condition. I’m super picky and I’m calling the fit and finish of this guitar “flawless”. It’s as perfect as perfect gets.
As for playing it and the sound. It has the tone and the volume I was looking for. I couldn’t believe it. I was strumming in another room when my wife came home from work and she immediately commented with a question “where did you get that? It sounds like what you’ve been describing to me that you want”. I told her the story and she couldn’t believe that I actually found what I was looking for.
The action, the relief, the nut, saddle and frets are all perfect. The inside is free of excess glue and the braces are nicely sculpted and sanded, there are vertical braces alone the internal sides and the truss rod moves freely. The setup was perfect for me.
The guitar plays, sounds and looks like an heirloom piece. It easily compares, in every way, to my other acoustic guitars from the M and the T and G companies. This is right up there.

It is what I was looking for, I’m a happy customer and won’t hesitate to buy another Mackenzie and Marr.
