A Sunburst Dreadnought Acoustic Guaranteed Not To Suck

Sunburst finishes look cool but too often they mask less-than-stellar wood. In fact the whole idea was originally conceived to let guitar factories cut costs by disguising imperfect tops. That's not to say every guitar with a sunburst finish is made with poor quality wood. Some are pretty good but how can a musician know for certain?

We've been asked multiple times for a sunburst top guitar but, knowing the dirty little secret we've declined. Until now. Any sunburst finish guitar built by MacKenzie & Marr would automatically be crafted from bookmatched AAA grade (or better) wood because that's all we use. Wood that doesn't meet that standard is sold to other makers. But how to convey the importance of knowing what's under the finish to guitarists? We wrestled with the question for a long while before coming up with the answer. In the end it was simple.

We'll guarantee it....in writing.

An Important Note Regarding Porch Pirates

When we ship a guitar we always send it with instructions to the courier that a signature MUST obtained at the time of delivery. If no one is home to sign for the carton it will not be left. We do this to insure that your guitar does not fall into the hands of porch pirates (or other nefarious characters such as bass players or drummers).

Fall In Love In Less Than a Week

Try any of our guitars in the comfort of your own home. If you don't fall head over heels in love within a week we'll arrange to take it back and issue a full refund (including shipping).
